Newport, RI — The Big New England Football Clinic is proud to announce the addition of a new featured speaker session titled “The Winners Circle,” scheduled for Saturday, March 7th from 7:50 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. in the Marriott Ballroom.
Designed as a high-level, conversational forum, “The Winners Circle” will bring together four accomplished head coaches for an in-depth discussion on leadership, culture development, adversity, and what it truly takes to build and sustain winning programs. The format will encourage open dialogue among the panelists, providing practical insight and championship-level perspective for both coaches from all levels.
The panel will feature Jim Fleming, head coach at the University of Rhode Island. Coach Fleming has led the Rams to two consecutive CAA championships, a remarkable accomplishment in one of the most competitive conferences in FCS football. His leadership has positioned URI among the elite programs in the league, reflecting a culture built on toughness, preparation, and consistent player development.
Joining him is Kevin Cahill of Lehigh University. Over the past two seasons, Cahill has guided Lehigh to a 21–5 record and back-to-back Patriot League championships in 2024 and 2025. In recognition of his leadership and program success, he was named the 2025 Eddie Robinson Award winner, presented annually to the top coach in FCS football. His recent achievements reflect a culture built on preparation, innovation, and championship standards.
Mike Cerasuolo, Head Coach at Springfield College, has firmly established Springfield as a dominant force in the NEWMAC. Under his leadership, the Pride have captured five consecutive NEWMAC championships from 2021 through 2025. Cerasuolo has been named NEWMAC Coach of the Year four times (2017, 2021–2023) and earned national recognition as the inaugural Walter Camp Division III Coach of the Year in 2024. He also became the first coach from New England to be named AP Division III National Coach of the Year.
Rounding out the panel is legendary high school coach Lou Marinelli of New Canaan High School. Recognized as Connecticut’s winningest high school football coach, Marinelli has amassed over 400 career victories across more than four decades. As of early 2026, he has led the Rams to 15 state championships and numerous FCIAC titles, building one of the most respected and consistent high school programs in the Northeast.
“The Winners Circle” reflects the clinic’s commitment to delivering meaningful insight from leaders who have achieved sustained success at every level of the game. Attendees can expect an honest and engaging discussion centered on championship culture, resilience, and the daily habits that separate good teams from great ones.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early and bring questions. A strong interest is expected for this inaugural session
